Having learned piano at the age of eight, and picking up trumpet and trombone throughout my high school years, I knew early on that playing music would be an integral part of my life. Perhaps one of the best things I’ve done in my life, was to never stop playing; to never stop learning.
After studying marketing, starting my own company for video production, and travelling the world, I got involved in several bands - including One King - back in 2005. Throughout the years I honed my skills in several genres and added vocals to my repertoire. Some of the highlights in my musical journey included doing shows across Ontario and performing in Nashville, TN. Now in 2025 I’ve returned to One King as a much better player, to a much better band.
Monty was born in Canada to a Greek/ Macedonian family. She studied business at Ryerson. After University, Monty entered the residential real estate market as an agent, while at the same time volunteering in schools and running her own basketball camp. Monty returned to school to become a teacher and received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. She has been an elementary school teacher for over 20 years in the Toronto District School Board. Monty has extensive experience volunteering for many important non-profit organizations such as Soles for Souls, Jump for Sick Kids and the Children’s Aid Society, where she helped raise money and awareness and organized shoe and food drives in many TDSB schools. She is now pursuing her love of music and singing Rhythm and Blues with One King Band. She is excited to bring joy and music to a live audience. Looking forward to many performances in 2025 and beyond.
I hail from Scarborough, Ontario, and I've been playing guitar for more than 50 years, and still
loving it. I play many styles of guitar including R&B, Funk, Rock and Roll, Jazz, Country and Fingerstyle a la Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Jerry Reed.
I started out playing in local bandsn at high school and church parties through my teenage years. My dream came true when I was able to leave home at 19 to tour all over Canada from the late 70's and into the 80's for more than a decade. After that I took a break to raise a family, and when my kids got into their teenage years I got back together with my old mates and formed a band called "The Whitehouse". We played all over Toronto for 25 years. I love all kinds of music and still practise quite a bit to keep the skills up. I love to play, and I love watching an audience enjoying the band I'm playing in and it's great connecting with people at our gigs.
Born in Guelph, my family moved around alot in my youth before settling in Toronto. I studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Canada in Toronto. Played guitar in various bands before settling in on bass. Coming from a blues based background it has been a great experience for me to play in different genres. Joining OneKing has continued me on my musical journey.
Born and raised in Toronto (The Big Smoke), John Tanti cut his teeth with countless bands from the age of 14.
Played professionally for 10 years after college. He is the original drummer for Downchild Blues Band circa 1969-1975. Left the music business to pursue other opportunities.
He is back performing on a part-time basis with his R&B band One King performing at various venues in and around The GTA and most of all having fun.
